Quantum theory of the far-off-resonance continuous-wave Raman laser: Heisenberg-Langevin approach

چکیده
We present the quantum theory of the far-off-resonance continuous-wave Raman laser using the HeisenbergLangevin approach. We show that the simplified quantum Langevin equations for this system are mathematically identical to those of the nondegenerate optical parametric oscillator in the time domain with the following associations: pump ↔ pump, Stokes ↔ signal, and Raman coherence ↔ idler. We derive analytical results for both the steady-state behavior and the time-dependent noise spectra, using standard linearization procedures. In the semiclassical limit, these results match with previous purely semiclassical treatments, which yield excellent agreement with experimental observations. The analytical time-dependent results predict perfect photon statistics conversion from the pump to the Stokes and nonclassical behavior under certain operational conditions.

The issue of talent-discovering is one of the most important issues in the field of education and research that has always been a concern for educational systems. Studying the issues of identifying and guiding talented students can illuminate a large part of the activities of the executors and practitioners in order to accomplish their mission effectively. On the other hand, quantum physics has...
متن کاملDynamic cancellation of ac Stark shift for pulsed EIT/Raman optical lattice clocks
We propose a combination of Electromagnetically Induced Transparency (EIT)/Raman and pulsed spectroscopy techniques to accurately cancel frequency shifts arising from EIT fields in forbidden optical lattice clock transitions of alkaline earth atoms. Time-separated laser pulses are designed to trap atoms in coherent superpositions while eliminating off-resonance ac Stark contributions at particu...

We conduct theoretical studies on the effects of various parameters on generation of multipartite continuous-variable entanglement via atomic spin wave induced by the strong coupling and probe fields in the Λ-type electromagnetically induced transparency configuration in a realistic atomic ensemble by using the Heisenberg-Langevin formalism. It is shown that the increase of the atomic density a...
متن کاملPhonon Effects on the Cyclotron Resonance for a Many-body System: a Generalized Quantum Langevin Equation Approach
We have recently developed a new approach to the derivation of quantum transport results for an interacting many-body system of electrons, impurities and phonons. Now, using a similar philosophy, the cyclotron resonance lineshape (CRLS) of an electron-phonon many-body system is studied by the generalized quantum Langevin equation approach, in which the memory function is obtained directly by so...
متن کاملComment on ""Electromagnetic Wave Dynamics in Matter- Wave Superradiant Scattering"
The Letter by Deng et al. [1] presents an analytic theoretical description of matter-wave superradiance [2] which claims to go beyond previous theoretical frameworks. I show here that the theory presented in this Letter is not a description of superradiance per se, but rather an elegant perturbative description of a Raman amplifier far away from the superradiant threshold. As such, it merely is...
